Nancy Scott, RICP®, AIF®

Registered Representative

Teaching is where Nancy’s career began, and it continues at Bartholomew & Company; the major difference is the subject matter.

Nancy began her career after graduating from University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) with a BS in Education as a middle school math teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia.  Moving home to Cape Cod, Nancy taught high school Mathematics for a couple of years until retiring from teaching when her daughter was born in 2004.

Nancy joined Bartholomew & Company in July 2006, to work as a part time assistant to Bob Harris.  Her strong interpersonal skills and educator personality proved to be a huge asset while working as the first contact person with Bob’s clients.  Between analyzing portfolios, creating reports, and attending client meetings with Bob, Nancy has been mentored in the art of building portfolios based on client’s needs and desires.  Bob has also taught Nancy the municipal bond industry and the advantage of owning individual municipal bonds in portfolios.

Upon moving to full time employment, Nancy expanded her role to include advising her own clients while continuing to work closely with Bob and his clients.  She has honed her skills by creating proposals for prospects and clients that meet their investment strategy.  Nancy enjoys working with clients to help them reach their goals responsibly while educating along the way.

As a Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designee, Nancy uses the most current retirement portfolio management techniques.  She helps identify retirement income needs and objectives relative to the client’s lifestyle goals in retirement. Nancy provides knowledgeable advice on a broad range of retirement topics including the proper use of annuities, mitigation of risks to retirement income planning, estate issues, Social Security, health insurance, housing decisions, and income taxation.  In addition, she is a certified life, health, variable, and long-term care insurance agent.

Nancy holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations as a registered representative and investment advisor with Commonwealth Financial Network®.  She earned the RICP® designation from the American College of Financial Services and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® professional designation from fi360 and has received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility.

Nancy lives in Chatham with her husband and two children.  In her free-time she enjoys camping with her family, watching her kids participate in their favorite activities, and spending time with her active family rock climbing, bike riding, and hiking.
