Alex Bartholomew is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Bartholomew & Company. As CEO, Alex leads the firm’s strategic direction and is responsible for advancing its long-term growth while preserving the disciplined, relationship-driven approach that has defined the firm for more than three decades. As CIO, he oversees the firm’s investment management team and investment strategy, including portfolio construction and management, with a focus on helping clients work toward their long-term objectives through disciplined, risk-aware investing.
Alex joined Bartholomew & Company in 2009 as an investment analyst after earning his BA in liberal arts and MBA in finance from Bryant University. He was promoted to Vice President in 2013 and Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer in 2018 before being named Chief Executive Officer in 2026. Throughout his tenure, Alex has played an integral role in the firm’s growth and evolution, helping strengthen its investment capabilities, develop its internal infrastructure, and shape the strategy and systems that support the firm today.
Alex holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation, as well as FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations. He is actively involved in the Central Massachusetts community, serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Ascentria Care Alliance, where he also chairs the Finance Committee. Alex also serves as a member of the Finance and Investment Committee of the American Antiquarian Society.
