Whether you’re an individual, family, or business owner, or you represent a community or institution, our approach to helping you achieve your goals starts with the same foundation: the strong personal connections we make with you.
In 1994, with nearly two decades of banking and investment experience under his belt, Thomas Bartholomew founded Bartholomew & Company and established himself as an independent financial advisor. An entrepreneur at heart, he had a singular vision in mind: to provide exceptional and accessible wealth management and financial planning solutions—with unrivaled personalized service.
Today, that vision has blossomed into one of the region’s leading full-service investment management and planning firms, with a team of 30 investment adviser representatives, registered staff, and support staff collectively managing more than $2.6 billion in client assets. And while the knowledge and expertise we’ve amassed over more than a quarter-century distinguish us, what truly defines us is the quality relationships we establish with every client we serve. Relationships that are based on mutual respect and trust, and strengthened by adherence to time-honored investment traditions, and an unfaltering dedication to protecting what you value most. We believe this cornerstone is why our clients entrust us to guide their own financial lives and recommend us to their families and friends for the same reasons.

Our commitment to creating meaningful partnerships that endure begins with the clients we serve every day and extends to the communities in which we work and live. To us, being a good community partner means doing everything from supporting our fellow local businesses through advertising, sponsorship, and representation on area boards and committees to giving back by hosting toy and food drives, participating in volunteer activities, and making charitable contributions through the Bartholomew Anniversary Fund. These are some of the many community organizations we partner with and support:
On the company’s 20th anniversary in 1994, Thomas Bartholomew created the Bartholomew & Company Anniversary Fund at Greater Worcester Community Foundation. The fund actively engages the company’s employees in grantmaking to give back to the community in which they work and live. Greater Worcester Community Foundation is a tax-exempt, public charity dedicated to improving the quality of life in Worcester County. Bartholomew & Company President and CEO Tom Bartholomew currently serves as treasurer on the Foundation’s board of directors. He is also a member of the Foundation’s Executive Committee. Sr. Vice President and CIO Alex Bartholomew currently serves as a corporator, volunteering to further the mission of the Foundation.
As a corporate partner of Preservation Worcester, Bartholomew & Company supports its mission to maintain for future generations the sites and structures that are significant to the culture, history, and architecture of the city and to encourage excellence in future design. Bartholomew & Company Sr. Vice President & CIO Alex Bartholomew serves on Preservation Worcester’s Endangered Structures Committee.
Since its opening in 2008, Bartholomew & Company has been a proud supporter of the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts, a 2,300-seat theater in Worcester, Massachusetts, that won a National Trust for Historic Preservation Award for its renovation and restoration of the original 1904 building. Today, the historic theater is an internationally recognized performing arts center, contributing to the economic development of downtown Worcester. Bartholomew & Company President and CEO Tom Bartholomew serves on the theater’s board of directors and is a member of the theater’s Franklin Square Society, contributing to its mission to foster a love and appreciation for the performing arts in the audiences of today and tomorrow.
Over the years, Bartholomew & Company has supported the EcoTarium’s mission to inspire a passion for science and nature through its participation in fundraising events and on the museum’s board and committees. The EcoTarium in Worcester, Massachusetts, offers three floors of indoor interactive exhibits, live animal habitats, exciting shows in the digital planetarium, daily Science Discovery programs, hikes through forest and meadow nature trails, outdoor imaginative play, and a train ride around the 45+ acre campus.
The YMCA of Central Massachusetts is devoted to strengthening communities and to developing the spirit, mind, and body of all persons, regardless of means, through activities that represent its core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Bartholomew & Company is proud to be a sponsor of the Annual YMCA Golf Classic, raising funds to support its Annual Campaign.
Our long-standing business partnership with Worcester Art Museum helps support the museum’s exhibitions, educational programs, exciting activities, and events that bring thousands of people to this premier cultural institution in New England. In addition, Bartholomew & Company President and CEO Thomas J. Bartholomew serves as a corporator of the museum; he is one of many individuals who serve as stewards of the public trust, ensuring the continuation of the Worcester Art Museum’s mission to collect, preserve, exhibit, and educate.
Worcester County Food Bank is dedicated to engaging, educating, and leading Worcester County, Massachusetts, in creating a hunger-free community—by partnering with others to provide donated food to neighbors in need and by advocating for policies and programs that increase access to healthy food. Bartholomew & Company employees volunteer at the food bank to sort and inspect donated food, and the company has provided donations of food and financial support.
The Worcester Public Library Foundation was established to enhance the public visibility and to raise public and private funds to ensure the continuing vitality of the Worcester Public Library.
